ELGIBILITY:

Any percussion student in grades 9 - 12.

PREFERENCE:

Preference will be given to those students who will be performing at the National Percussion Festival in March.

REQUIREMENTS FOR BORROWING AN INSTRUMENT:

1. You must plan on being home during the vast majority of the holiday break period and plan on doing a good deal of practicing during the break. It is a waste of an instrument if you are going to be out of town for more than a couple of days or if you are not going to actually practice.

2. Parents must assume financial liability for any damage incurred to the instrument while it is in your possession, incuding the transport process.

3. Each family is responsible for transporting the instrument back and forth from the school to your home.

4. All bars must be wrapped in blankets for transport.

5. Most instruments will need to be taken apart for transport. It is the responsibility of each student to know how to disassemble ( and reassemble) the instrument.

6. Instruments must be picked up between 7:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, December 22nd.

7. Instruments must be returned to the high school no later than 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening, January 2nd.

8. Please do not ask for exceptions to the pick-up and return times or dates. These are established so as not to disturb the private lesson program any more than we already are.

Neither the Malletech 5.0 Marimba, or the Malletech Bass Marimba, are available for loan.

PROCEDURE TO REQUEST AN INSTRUMENT:

ALL REQUESTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY 10:00 P.M. ON TUESDAY EVENING, DECEMBER 20TH.

Send an email to Mr. Minnotte (richminn@aol.com) with the following information:

1. Instrument you wish to borrow

2. A statement indicating that both the student, and their parent/s, have read, understand and agree to abide by, the "Requirements for Borrowing an Instrument" #s 1 - 8 listed above.

Instruments will be assigned based on the following:

1. The date and time the request was received

2. Is the student participating in the National Percussion Festival

3. Grade level of the student

Students will be advised via email by Mr. Minnotte (on Wednesday, December 21st) if your request was approved or denied.
